Easter Cupcakes

This year was Ali’s first Easter! The kids are still too little to have very much candy, so we kept that to a minimum in their baskets; but we got them a few other things to keep them entertained:

  • some gigantic bubble blowing thingies
  • a couple new outfits
  • some chalk for their easel
  • big box of crayons (with a sharpener, since Ali likes to eat them ;) )

When Easter morning came, they dug into their baskets and of course had far too much candy (I’m sure the nursery ladies at church loved those next couple of hours :) ). Uncle Ryan happened to be visiting for his Spring Break, so he got to play with them Easter morning too.

After church, we got together with my friend Mark and headed to his family’s house for lunch and a hilarious Easter egg hunt. Unfortunately, it was right around that time, both munchkins started to show signs of the now infamous respiratory infection that circulated around our house for nearly a week. All day, as people held Ali, they commented on how pink her cheeks were, and wouldn’t you know it, she had a fever. It wasn’t a total bummer thought; while we were there we also got to experience the fun of some Filipino karaoke :D (and some Rock Band). It was a great time and another fun, eventful Easter Sunday.

Check out the pictures of the fun from Easter Sunday here.

Oh, an interesting fact about this year’s Easter. March 23rd is the earliest Easter any of us will ever experience. It is only possible for Easter to be one day earlier, March 22nd, and the next time that will happen is sometime in the 2200s. The next March 23rd Easter won’t come until the 2100s. (Thank you, Pastor, for that interesting fact.) Also interesting is the fact that any time our children are visited by a family member from Ohio, they wind up sick. We love you, but stop bringing your illnesses down!!! ;) (Honestly, it’s just coincidental, but we feel bad that Ryan had to play nurse/maid for Meg and the kids all week.)

Hope your earliest Easter was as fun (hectic, interesting) as ours!
