Galveston Island Trip

Recently Dad had some job training in Houston, TX; and since it isn’t too far from us, we decided to meet in Galveston (about an hour outside of Houston) for a long weekend. Dad rented a condo on the beach, and the kids got to see the ocean for the first time. We had to be careful and keep Ali out of the sun as much as possible (she’s still just a little bit too young for sunscreen and seems to have my complexion), but Xavier was able to play on the beach and in the waves. I think you’ll be able to tell by the pictures that he absolutely loved it.
It was really neat to get to watch him experience something completely new. You could tell just by watching him that all kinds of stuff was going through his head. He was also completely fearless. The tide was pretty variable. One second he’d be standing on wet sand, then with the next rush of waves, the water would be up to his chest. He loved it and would’ve walked out into water over his head if we hadn’t stopped him.
Despite not being able to spend much time in the sun, Ali still had a blast. She got to play in the kiddie pool, and had a great time splashing her grandma and brother (and anyone else that was nearby). While we were there we also made a trip to the Moody Gardens Aquarium. We’ve known for awhile now that Xavier loves aquariums, and apparently Ali is following in his footsteps. She looked around the whole time and kept smiling at everything. (She even managed to put her fear of Pappy-G aside and let him hold her during a good bit of our excursion.)
Anyway, I put up a new album full of pictures from the trip. Check it out here and leave us your comments.

You got some AWESOME shots! I loved looking at them all! I haven’t even pulled out dad’s laptop to see any that you loaded from your camera. Now I have to get them onto my new laptop and add them to the StoryBook I’m doing of our beach trip! Thanks for posting them! We had a great time with you all and can’t wait for our next visit with you at Christmas!
