Family Update

Xavier turns one year old tomorrow! I really can barely believe it. Not only that, but on the day Xavier turns one, Ali will be four weeks old. Where the heck did the past month go. Better yet, where did the past year go. Oh well, maybe things will slow down one day :) .

So now that I’ve expressed my shock and awe a little bit, I’ll give you an update of what’s been going on. Xavier started walking!… and then stopped. The day we brought Ali home from the hospital Xavier took his first steps. He was doing great, he took about five steps across the living room. We think it was mainly to take some of the spotlight from Ali :) . For the next week or so we worked with him and made him try to walk as often as possible, and he was doing great and having fun doing it. Now, he absolutely refuses. We’ll try to get him to walk and he just plops down and crawls every time. I guess he’s done trying to steal attention from Ali.

Ali is doing good too though, she’s gained almost a pound, and grown like half an inch. It’s amazing how much more solid and less fragile she feels now. Which is a good thing, it just happens really fast. She’s such a great baby though, she sleeps nice and quietly, and usually only gets up two times a night.

Stay tuned for updates from Xavier’s birthday party tomorrow. Megan and Rhonda have been working on a dinosaur cake that’s going to be awesome!

Well, I hope you’re happy, cause you just made me cry! I’ve been really emotional lately anyway, and when I read your post about Xavey’s birthday and his party I just cried. So thanks for making my night. I need pictures! (So, I can cry some more!) I’ll be thinking of you all tomorrow and wishing I could be there to help celebrate!

BTW, I couldn’t log on to the notepad a week ago. I even tried to get a new password, but when I typed that one in it wouldn’t work either. Have you locked me out or what? Just curious.

Well, sorry to add to you emotionality… :) (that’s not a word is it?) We’ll miss you during the b-day!

No clue about The Notepad, I can log in fine. Your account is still active, I can reset your password for you if you couldn’t get that to work. Let me know.

Son, I hate to break this to you but things don’t slow down once you have kids until you die. First, you spend most of your young days wishing you were older. Then you get older and have kids. At that point you run at a really fast pace to keep up with at the stuff your kids want to do. The next thing you know they are headed off to college and all you money is gone so you have to work you butt off to catch back up. Shortly after that comes the grandkids…and your kids move off with them and you have travel half way around the states to see them.

Best advise I can give is; don’t worry about slowing down, just sit back and enjoy the ride. It well be the time of you life.

I love you guys. Take care of those grandkids. One of these days I will make the trip halfway across the states again and get to see that little girl. You know the one that will drive her older brother crazy when they are teenagers and spend all your hard earned money on shoes because the largest part of her brain will tell her if they are on sale, she should buy 50 pairs to save you money….;)

Oh yea, have Megan fix the typos and errors in that last post. It is totally screwed up. But hey, I was in a hurry.

    Later,

    Dad
