Snot, croup and sleepless nights.

Well, last night, before my family left, Xavier got sick. He threw up twice (once was all over my bed), couldn’t stop crawling and was crying incessantly. Today was more of the same. So today, Josh and I took him to urgent care. We expected the same diagnosis we got last time he felt so terrible — an ear infection.
Mommy’s know best.
And in this case, not everything. Because the doctor informed us that Xavey has croup. It’s not terribly dangerous, but it generally sucks to have it. It’s an infection of the vocal chords and voice box. It hurts and can be really dangerous because it causes the troat to swell.
So, ontop of his other medicine (and the pain of cutting new teeth), Xave-o got his first taste of steroids. Apparently, the roids help combat the swelling, which should help babycakes sleep better.
Let’s hope it works.
By the way, I’ve slept about 4 hours in the past 2 1/2 days. I apologize for the shoddy writing in this post and promise to get some sleep before posting my long entry about my family’s visit to Texas. G’night.

Be quiet Joshy. I can’t sleep, because you snore and Xavey cries and coughs and Ali kicks. :’(
